Hello, my name is Christine Riggan. This year will be my tenth year working at Mom’s Morning Out! I started out as a mom who enrolled my three year old daughter. The first year I helped out as needed. The next year, Mrs. Wolfe hired me on as an assistant in the class and I have been here ever since. I have been the full time classroom teacher for the last five years after Mrs. Wolfe retired. I love teaching and I love this program! I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hope International University in Fullerton, California in Children’s Ministry. My degree focus included early childhood education and elementary education. I hold a certificate in Infant/Toddler education and an Associate’s Degree in Bible. I have been married to my wonderful husband Rob for 23 years and we have two amazing children, ages 17 and 13. I attend Zion’s River church where my husband is an Associate Pastor. When I am not at preschool, I enjoy all kinds of crafting, reading, working with my husband at church, supporting my son’s Boy Scout experience and leading my daughter’s Girl Scout troop.
PCC Children’s Ministry Director
Having the privilege and opportunity to work with children of God and watch them grow in their journey with Jesus is truly a blessing in Brooke’s life. Brooke has always felt that her calling has been to work with children, and really values the opportunity she has to serve at Praise Covenant Church as the Children’s Ministry Director. She also works with Mom’s Morning Out Preschool at Praise where she very much enjoys both the kids and the team. She has nine years of experience in teaching Preschool and working with Elementary-aged children.
Brooke was born and raised in University Place, Washington, where she attended Curtis Senior High School. She graduated from Pierce College in 2013 with an Associate degree in Elementary Education. Since then she is continuing her education at Post University, pursuing her degree in Childhood Studies. Besides fulfilling her dream of working with children, she enjoys spending time outdoors, being with friends and spending time with her husband Richard.
Janiece Ballinger has been a teacher at Moms Morning Out Preschool since 2008 and says this is the best job she has ever had next to being a mom of six. She has three girls and three boys and had the wonderful privilege of being a stay-at-home mom to raise and home-school her children for over twenty years. She is also a grandma to seven adorable and precious grandchildren. She says, “Being a grandma is what helps me to feel young because I’m able to experience the world again through their eyes.”
Janiece home-schooled her own children out of a desire to teach and wanting to influence her children with Godly values. She places a high value on compassion, integrity, commitment, and hard work and brings those same qualities with her to Mom’s Morning Out, as well as a lot of hands-on experience.
She and her supportive husband, Steve, have been married for 32 years. They are both from California and moved to Washington 18 years ago, making University Place their home. Her hobbies include reading, sewing, photography, camping, hikes, and being creative. She also wants to learn Hebrew. Her family attends El Shaddai Ministries where they learn about their Hebrew roots.
