Greg Chantler

Pastor Greg was born into a Christian family and came to know Christ at an early age. He sensed God’s call into ministry in 1968 at the age of 18 and fully surrendered his life to God’s service. Three months later, he was drafted and served two years in the United States Army. After completing a 14-month tour of duty in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division, he returned home and married Jane, a registered nurse and now his wife of 45 years. They have two grown children: Chris, who is a Nurse/Manager in the Emergency Room of New York University Hospital in New York City and Corrie, who is a social worker for the Department of Social and Health Services in Tacoma.

Pastor Greg was a choral music major in college and has served various churches in the areas of music, youth, single adults, church growth and now the Senior Pastorate. His hobbies include reading novels of all kinds and riding around in his Miata convertible sports car with the wind whipping through his increasingly thinning hair.

Note from Pastor Greg:

What a joy it is to be the Lead Pastor at Praise Covenant Church. To have the privilege of pastoring, along with my colleagues in ministry, this marvelous group of folks is both challenging and inspiring. Our desire at Praise is to be “A Center for Hope and Healing,” a place where people from all walks of life can come and discover God’s destiny for them. Some come to this church healthy and whole, some come broken and desirous of healing, but all come needing Jesus and His unconditional love. After 41 years of ministry, I still find that there’s no greater joy in life than to see people saved, set free, healed and delivered!”
